Abstract
Do you feel that kubectl apply is no longer enough, and want to finally understand what your cluster does under the hood?
Moving from Minikube to your own machines is a natural next step, but starting out with bare kubeadm can discourage you from learning further.
In this talk, I’ll show you how to make that next step without pulling your hair. We’ll discuss where Minikube’s convenience ends, and why manually configuring a full cluster can be overkill when all you want is to get started on your own hardware. I’ll present K3s as the comfortable midpoint. Instead of digging through dry specifications, we’ll focus on where this distribution’s simplifications come from and how they help you understand Kubernetes logic, without having to become a full-time network administrator.
